Chanterelle Casserole for Microwave


Chanterelles are among the richest sources of vitamin D. This mushroom has a very rich flavor and are a common ingredient in French cuisine. In some parts of the world it might be hard to find, so you will be happy to know that in this dish they can be substituted with any kind of mushroom you have at hand.

Chanterelle Casserole for Microwave



Serves 2

1 serving is 270 cal.

This is what you need

1 onion

1 can (7 oz.) chanterelles in water

(or any other canned or

frozen mushrooms)

1 tbsp butter or margarine

1/5 tsp thyme

125 g (4,4 oz) frozen peas

chopped parsley

salt and pepper to taste

step by step how to make Chanterelle Casserole for Microwave



Handy in the kitchen

This is what you do

  1. Peel the onion and cut into thin wedges. Drain the water of the canned mushrooms and cut it into small pieces.

  2. Melt the butter in a micro safe bowl for about 30 seconds on full power. Take the bowl out of the microwave and mix in the mushrooms and onion.

  3. Cover the bowl and cook the dish on full power for 3-4 minutes. Add salt, pepper and thyme.

  4. Mix your frozen peas with the mushrooms, cover the bowl and cook on full power for about 4-6 minutes. Take it out of the microwave and garnish with parsley.


Always leave a microwaved dish for a few minutes before serving to let the heat spread out evenly.
