Today’s recipe, crab in a basket, is a perfect appetizer for any dinner party.

I used crab sticks this time, but you can use fresh crab or canned crab if you prefer.

With a little bit of cutting and stirring and only 6 minutes total

cooking time you can get this delicious crab-dish on the table in no time.

Crab in a Basket (Microwave)

 

 

This is what you need

makes 6 croustades

1 filled croustade is 190 cal.

1 cup crab meat

1 small onion

1 tsp butter or margarine

1 small cup Crème fraîche or sour cream

1 ½ tbsp chili sauce

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

½ tsp soy sauce

1 tsp rose pepper

6 mini croustades (or other crispy pastry shells)

This is what you do

1. Cut your crab into small squares.

2. Peel and finely chop the onion. Place it in a micro safe bowl with the butter. Cover and boil in your microwave oven on full power for 4 minutes.

3. Add the crab (make sure to drain off all the liquid if you use canned crab). Stir in the sour cream OR Crème fraîche, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and rose pepper

4. Place the “stew” in the croustades and warm on full power for 1-2 minutes. Serve warm.
