Creamy Brussels Sprout (Microwave)
Today I will show you how to make creamy Brussels sprout in your microwave. I am always looking for new ways to serve my vegetables, and this Brussels sprout stew is one of my favorites. I always serve this dish with a side of crispy bacon. Not because I have to, but because I can. This stew is very rich in vitamin C, which we all know is very good for us. If you have any leftovers, add some thyme and give it a quick trip through the blender, and you have a great salsa to top off your lamb or pork chops.
This is what you need
1 serving is 355 cal.
1 package frozen Brussels sprout (3 cups)
2 tbsp water
10 tbsp heavy cream (0,6 cup)
salt and pepper to taste
Handy in the kitchen
This is what you do
Peel and finely chop the onion. Thaw the Brussels sprout a little on low/defrost for 3-4 minutes, enough to be able to cut them in halves.
Place the onion and the Brussels sprout in a micro safe bowl and pour in the water.
Cover the bowl and boil on full power for 3-4 minutes.
Add the heavy cream to the stew, cover and cook first on full power for 2 minutes, then on low/defrost for 6-8 minutes until you reach the preferred creamy consistency. Stir a couple of times during the cooking. Add salt and pepper.
This stew goes very well with bacon,
smoked sausage, venison roast or lamb chops
