French Mustard Sauce


French mustard sauce can lift a simple dish to gastronomic heights. The sauce is perfect for chicken, pork chops, meatloaf, sausages and much more. It takes less than 10 minutes to make this mustard sauce in your microwave.

French Mustard Sauce -- from Cooking With Microwave

This is what you need

1 serving is 115 cal.


1 tablespoon butter or margarine

2 tablespoons flour

1 small cup of light cream

1 small cup of vegetable stock (cube + water)

1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley

1 teaspoon dried tarragon

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

How to make French Mustard Sauce in your microwave, step by step

This is what you do

  1. Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl at full power for 30 seconds. Add the flour and stir.

  2. Add fresh cream and vegetable stock.

  3. Boil the sauce on full power for 3-5 minutes. Stir at least once every minute. Add the parsley, tarragon and mustard.

  4. Whisk the sauce together and give it a quick boil at full power for 30 seconds


Tip: Choose a high bowl. Cream tend to skim over as it boils up.
