Hawaiian Sandwich (Microwave)
This Hawaiian Sandwich is made with smoked ham, but you can use any deli-meats or leftovers you have.
The same goes for the spices. I used a mix of salt and pepper, but sometimes I make these sandwiches with oregano, garlic-powder or paprika.
Some of us prefer strong tasting cheese, others go for the milder cheeses. In this recipe you just pick your own favorite of any ingredient.
A nice variation is to switch the pineapple for apple-slices. Make sure they are a bit sour for best result.
And the best part; no butter needed!
This is what you need
1 sandwich is about 170 cal.
2 slices of bread
2-4 slices of smoked ham or other deli meats
2 pineapple rings
4 slices of cheese
salt and pepper to taste, or any other spice you prefer
This is what you do
Toast the bread and then place them on a micro safe plate
Add first the ham, then the pineapple rings on top of each slice of bread.
Top off with the cheese and the spices.
Warm the sandwiches on full power for about ½ – 1 minute, or until the cheese is melted. Do NOT cover.
Serve while still warm.
A small salad on the side makes this a great breakfast, lunch or evening meal.
