Onion Soup with White Wine (Microwave)
Today I will show you how to make onion soup the quick and easy way, in your microwave oven. This soup is my version of the more famous French one that we all love. I have to admit that I normally add more cheese than my recipe call for when I make this soup for myself, so feel free to do the same. This dish contains vitamin C, iron and fiber. Try it and let me know what you think and enjoy the leftover white wine with your soup, they are a perfect match.
This is what you need
1 serving is 315 cal.
2 tbsp oil
½ small cup white wine
2 cups beef broth
1/5 tsp thyme
1 bay leaf
1 garlic clove, minced
2 slices of toast
½ small cup grated cheese
salt and pepper
Useful for this recipe
This is what you do
Peel and slice the onions. Pour the oil into a tall micro safe bowl.
Place the onion slices in the oil and cover the bowl. Microwave on full power for 5 minutes
Pour wine and broth into the bowl and add salt, pepper, thyme, bay leaf and garlic.
Cover the bowl again and microwave the soup on full power for 10 minutes. Stir after half time.
Cover the toast with the grated cheese. Ladle soup into micro safe serving bowls, and place one cheese-covered toast in each bowl. Microwave on full power for 1 minute.
Tip: Add a little bit of paprika powder or soy sauce on top of the cheese before you place it in the microwave to give it a more gratinated look
