Red Wine Sauce, Microwave


The recipe I am sharing with you today, red wine sauce,

is a brilliant way to use vegetables to thicken your red wine sauce.

This sauce is perfect for chicken and any kind of fried meat.

And for a real gourmet meal, try it on a slice of fried salmon.

Red Wine Sauce, Microwave



Serves 2-3

1 serving is 75 cal.

This is what you need

1 small onion

1 small carrot

1 thin slice of knob-celery (celeriac)

½ tbsp butter or margarine

¾ cup of water

1/3 cup of red wine

a pinch of salt to taste

step by step how to make Red Wine Sauce in your Microwave

This is what you do

  1. Peel the onion, carrot and knob-celery. Finely chop the onion and cut carrot and knob-celery into tiny squares.

  2. Melt the butter in micro safe bowl on full effect for about 20-30 seconds.

  3. Mix the vegetables in with the butter and cook on full effect for about 3-4 minutes.

  4. Add water, red wine and salt. Boil the sauce on full effect for about 4-5 minutes. Stir after half time.

  5. Take the sauce out of the microwave and stir very well to mash most of the vegetables to make a thicker sauce.

To mash the vegetables you can use a hand blender or even a blender. If this process cool your sauce down, warm it up on full effect for about one minute before serving.
