Smoked herring with sour cream sauce for microwave


Smoked herring (kippers) makes an easy and delicious meal.

Add an amazing sour cream sauce, and you have a dish everybody will love.

Ready to eat in about 10 minutes and made of a few simple ingredients.

A tasty and quickly made dish, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Herring is a great source of vitamin A, B and D, and also rich in iron and Omega 3.

Smoked herring with sour cream sauce for microwave

This is what you need

serves 2

1 serving is 500 cal.


4-5 smoked herring (kippers)

1 tsp wine- or apple vinegar


½ cup of sour cream

½ tsp mustard

½ tsp sugar

Step by step how to make Smoked herring with sour cream sauce for microwave


Handy in the kitchen

This is what you do

  1. Pull the skin off the herring and fillet them. Place them side by side on a micro safe plate

  2. Sprinkle the vinegar over the herring and add some finely chopped chives on top

  3. Mix the mustard and sugar in with the sour cream.

  4. Pour the sauce over the herring with a spoon to spread it out.

  5. Cook on full effect for 3-4 minutes

Serve with whole wheat bread
